  4. Luke — I think the word you are looking for is “alas” — I wasn’t an English teacher but worked my way thru college grading papers for English professors! And the thing about the cup of water in the microwave — you do that just in case some one turns it on by mistake.
    I had a middle school kid put newspaper in a microwave and start a fire — if I had had a cup of water in there, it would have been less of a disaster! As it was, we threw out the microwave. That kid was arrested several years ago for criminal behavior — ARSON!
    The apartment is beautiful, and the fruit looks delicious! Have a good week!
