I'd forgotten how much you look like your Dad, Luke. I have a few photos I'd like to email to you from the trip I just took, driving back and forth across the US. 6123 miles. What a beautiful country!

Your blog is wonderful, Joy in Spanish school (something I'd better do when I get there), the rafting trip is something I really love. Have done a couple of wild rivers in this part of the country. When we were in Costa Rica the water was too low to travel easily so we declined but did take a few mild river trips for birdwatching. I want to go through the Grand Canyon some day and think I'd better go soon while I have a bit of strength.

My brother-in-law was in Quinto when he was in Berea's country dancers. They are well known and travel all over the world. He is a fine folk dancer, but is also a cut-up. The other night we went to a restaurant where the food left much to be desired in Narrows, VA but people with string instruments were there. I thought it would be an organized group but it was pick up with anyone who had a guitar, banjo, bass, mandolin or fiddle. Not much dancing but lots of clapping and laughing. A few folks did some flat dancing. Richard (brother-in-law) clogs.

My visit with your folks was brief because they had received word that my brother had died the evening before I got to Uniontown. Life has a way of going on. Your mother had Methodist women meeting. But she made dinner, assisted me in purchasing a new suit and blouse for $9.62 for the viewing/receiving and funeral. I think I've about gotten my money's worth out of it because I also wore it to the Narrows dinner.

Must read a few progressive blogs because I've not read any for over 2 weeks. Down with Tyranny, Firedoglake, Crooks and Liars and DailyKos are my favorites. Best to you,
